The standard closure is a roll-top secured with a side-release buckle, rated IPX7 and verified with a full water-immersion test, 2+ hours. Where the bag must stay sealed under water for longer, the opening can be built with an airtight zipper rated IPX8. Seven capacities are kept as standard tooling: 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 63 litres. Other volumes are developed as new patterns.
The minimum order is 300 pieces per design, and that 300 can be split across sizes and standard colours within the same design. Logo samples take 7–15 days. Production runs from our factories in Dongguan, China and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, shipped FOB Guangdong or quoted on Vietnam origin.

A custom order is defined by eight choices. Capacity comes first, because it fixes the base pattern and the printable area. Body material follows: 500D PVC tarpaulin at 0.5mm is the standard; TPU gives a softer hand and lower weight; phthalate-free PVC is used for programmes sold into the EU and California; GRS recycled fabric is available for buyers who need a recycled-content claim backed by certification.
Colour can be chosen from our standard range or matched to a Pantone reference. The closure can stay as the standard roll-top and buckle or move to an airtight zipper. Functional parts are added as needed: a clear window, a purge valve to release trapped air, a dry-wet separation inner pouch, a single shoulder strap, a double shoulder harness, or a detachable strap, with D-ring positions set to your layout. The last two choices are the logo method and the retail packaging, both covered in detail below.
Starting from an existing base model shortens sampling and lead time, because the pattern, welding dies and test history are already in place. The following models are available as bases for a logo programme:
If none of these fits, Sealock develops a new pattern from your drawing, a reference sample or a target specification. New development takes longer than a base-model order, and the timeline is confirmed at quotation.
The logo is printed on the flat body panel below the roll-top fold zone, and kept clear of all welded edges. There are two reasons for this rule. The fold zone is rolled and unrolled every time the bag is used, and ink printed there cracks along the fold lines within weeks. Ink that runs into a weld line sits between the two layers of material when the seam is welded, which weakens the bond at exactly the point the bag relies on to stay watertight.
The printable area therefore depends on capacity. A 3L bag has room for a compact mark; a 20L or 63L bag can carry a large logo, a slogan line or a second print on the reverse panel. When you send artwork, we return a placement drawing on the chosen base model with the printable zone marked, so position and size are agreed before sampling.
An order starts with a brief: capacity, quantity per size and colour, material, closure, accessories, logo artwork in vector format and the target market. From that we issue a quotation with unit price, sample cost and lead time. Once the quotation is accepted, we produce a logo sample on the chosen base in 7–15 days. That sample becomes the approved reference for colour, print position and finish.
Bulk production starts after sample approval and deposit. On the SL-D002 base, an order of up to 500 pieces takes about 20 days, up to 2,500 pieces about 25 days, and up to 5,000 pieces about 30 days. Other base models take 30–45 days. Before shipment, every batch is checked against the approved sample and through the inspection steps listed in the Quality Inspection Standards section.

Each production run begins with a weld peel test on the first pieces off the line, so that welding temperature, pressure and time are confirmed before volume production. Roll-top closures are sampled from every batch for a full water-immersion test, 2+ hours. Buckles, webbing and D-rings are pull-tested to confirm the attachment points hold under load.
Printed logos go through a tape adhesion test and a rub test to confirm the ink is bonded to the material and does not wear off under handling. Colour is compared against the approved sample, so that the bulk order matches what you signed off. The factory runs IQC, IPQC and OQC stages, and third-party inspection by SGS or QIMA can be arranged.
When a customer inspection is booked, the procedure is fixed: unboxing, vacuum extraction, a 24-hour static rest, then the air-leak determination. Any piece that loses pressure over the rest period is rejected.

Choosing a method comes down to artwork and quantity. A logo of one to three flat colours is screen printed; each colour needs its own screen, so cost rises with colour count, not with quantity. Artwork with photographs or gradients goes to digital or UV printing, which has no screen cost. A welded TPU badge suits buyers who want a raised mark that stays on the bag for its whole life. Reflective print is added where the bag will be carried at dusk or on the road. For a cost comparison by method and quantity, see promotional dry bags with custom logo: printing methods, MOQ and unit cost.
Sealock has produced waterproof bags for global brands for over 20 years, with high-frequency welding and sewing both run in-house. Any custom requirement in this programme can be met, from a logo on a standard base to a fully new bag developed from a sketch. Complex new developments carry longer lead times, and that timeline is set out in the quotation.
Standard terms are FOB Guangdong. Vietnam origin is quoted separately. For US buyers, origin affects landed cost: since 24 July 2026, both China-origin and Vietnam-origin goods carry the 12.5% Section 301 duty, and China-origin goods additionally carry the existing China-specific Section 301 tariffs. We quote both origins on request so you can compare duty-paid cost.
Material compliance documents are prepared for the target market: EU REACH phthalate limits (DEHP, DBP, BBP and DIBP combined at no more than 0.1%) and California Prop 65, with third-party test reports available. The factory holds BSCI, Sedex SMETA and ISO 9001 audits, and GRS certification is available for recycled-material programmes.
Most cracking happens because the logo was printed in the roll-top fold zone, where the material is bent every time the bag is closed. We print only on the flat body panel below the fold and clear of welded edges, and every batch passes a tape adhesion test and a rub test before shipment.
Fresh PVC can carry an odour straight out of a sealed PE bag. If odour matters for your market, specify phthalate-free PVC or TPU, both of which have a much lower odour. Bags can also be aired before packing on request.
A single fold does not seal. The roll-top needs to be rolled at least three times before the buckle is closed, so that the internal sealing film presses against itself. We can add a closure instruction card to each bag so end users close it correctly; see our guide on how to close a roll-top dry bag.
Colour is confirmed on the logo sample, matched against your Pantone reference, and that sample becomes the production standard. Every batch is compared to it before packing. Material and lighting can shift appearance slightly, so the comparison is made under a standard light source.
Yes. Within one design, the 300 pieces can be split across the standard sizes and standard colours. Custom Pantone colours and special materials are quoted with their own minimums because the material is ordered for your job.
A logo sample takes 7–15 days. The sample cost depends on the base model, print method and number of colours, and is stated in the quotation before you confirm.
On the SL-D002 base, about 20 days for up to 500 pieces, 25 days for up to 2,500 pieces and 30 days for up to 5,000 pieces. Other base models take 30–45 days. Lead time starts after sample approval and deposit.
A closed roll-top bag with air trapped inside will usually float, which helps if it is dropped overboard. It is not a buoyancy aid or life-saving device and must not be sold or used as one.
Yes. We develop new bags from a drawing, a reference sample or a target specification, including new sizes, shapes, closures and carry systems. New development takes longer than a base-model order; the timeline is confirmed at quotation.
For a logo of one to three flat colours, screen print is the most economical at MOQ. For photographs or gradients, use digital or UV print. For a raised mark with no ink layer, choose a welded TPU 3D badge. Add reflective print if the bag will be carried in low light. Send your artwork and we will recommend the method and give the cost.
Send us the capacity, quantity per size and colour, body material, closure, accessories, logo artwork and target market. We will reply with a placement drawing, unit price, sample cost and lead time, for China or Vietnam origin. Submit your brief through the inquiry form or email info@sealock.com.hk.
