The body is high-frequency welded into a seamless shell with no needle holes, and the roll-top folds down and buckles to seal the top. Rated IPX8 — the highest ingress-protection level, for continuous submersion — this roll top dry backpack is built to keep the main compartment dry even if it goes fully underwater during a capsize or a river crossing. We verify the seal on every pack with a full water-immersion test, submerging the closed bag for more than two hours and confirming the inside stays dry.

Air-Release Valve for Compression

A sealed one-way air-release valve lets you press the packed bag flat and push out the trapped air without breaking the waterproof seal, so a full load compresses down for tighter packing and easier storage on a kayak or a rack. Left closed with air inside, the sealed pack traps enough buoyancy to float if it goes overboard, which makes it a practical floating dry backpack on open water; when you want it as small as possible, the valve purges the excess.

Dual Waterproof Side Zip Pockets

Two waterproof side zip pockets — one on each side — give sealed, quick-access storage for the things you do not want buried in the roll-top main compartment. How We Make and Test It

Each backpack starts with cut 420D TPU laminated nylon. We high-frequency weld the body and the valve seat into a seamless shell with no needle holes, fit the roll-top and buckles, install the air-release valve and the dual waterproof side zippers, then assemble the harness, chest strap and reflective panels. Before a batch ships, we run a full water-immersion test — submerging each sealed pack for more than two hours to confirm the IPX8 seal — check that the air valve seals fully after purging, and pull-test the straps and buckles under load. The welded seams, the valve and the side zippers are the areas we inspect hardest.

What does the air valve do?
